Diamond Eight is proud to host the American Poolplayers Association (APA) league! The league, run by the APA of Greater Albany, offers team, doubles, and individual play in 8-Ball and 9-Ball and offers players the opportunity to play in the National Championships, held every August in Las Vegas.

We host many league tournaments, and provide special offers for APA members.

Shoot Pool (and win!), Meet People and Have Fun

One of the best features of the APA is the great handicapping system (players are ranked according to their ability) which “equalizes” the matches so that each person has a fair chance to win! For example, a player with a Skill Level of 3 (SL3) would have to win only 2 games against a person with a skill level of 6 (SL6). The SL6 would have to win 5 games!

Another great thing about the APA is that the players are very friendly and more than willing to share what they have learned about the game. You can learn how to win games, even though your opponent may be a better “shot-maker” than you.

In 2007, Diamond Eight sent 2 teams to Las Vegas to compete in the 8-Ball National Team Championships, and 1 team to compete in the 9-Ball National Team Championships! Our 9-Ball team finished 5th in the tournament! The 3 teams all played in our popular Double Jeopardy Sunday night division.

Double Jeopardy

Our most popular league night is Sunday night, which is Double Jeopardy night! Teams play both 8-Ball and 9-Ball at the same time! Practice starts at 4:30pm and play starts at 6pm every Sunday night. New players are always welcome!
