2008 Golf Tournament another great success!

Dave Tailon's team took first place!

Our 8th Annual Edward M. Skawinski Memorial Golf Tournament was another great success! Pictures from the event are now posted!

The McNamara Show

Sixty-four golfers had great fun at the Fairways of Halfmoon, teeing off at 8am and playing 18 holes at a very quick pace. The sky threatened to rain all morning, and the few sprinkles that did fall did not last long enough to effect the great day on the links. After a number of top 3 finishes over the last few years, Dave Tailon and his group took home this year’s 1st place trophies, shooting 8-under par. APA member Tim Goman led his team to a second place finish at 7-under while John Calereso’s men finished third at 5-under.

Tim Goman took home the silver medal in this years tournament

In last place, for the third (or fourth?) year in a row, was Greg Stroyen’s golf buddies. They shot 14-over but had a blast while tearing up the golf course.

Best team in the Senior Division

Of course, after golf, golfers and non-golfers alike meet up at Diamond Eight for a delicious buffet, the great raffles, great company and karaoke, too! An impromptu version of “Hambone!” played with aluminum pans was just one of many highlights throughout the evening.

Hambone hambone have you heard

We are so lucky to have the support of so many great people and sponsors so that we are able to continue this tradition year after year! We will again donate over $4000. to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region, who have been very appreciative of our efforts! Thanks again for your help and support!
