$15. entry fee includes:

• $10. towards that night’s prize fund
• $3. towards table time
• $1. towards “10-Ball Break and Run” contest
• $1. towards “9-Ball on the Break” Jackpot

Texas Express 9-Ball rules include:

• Push after break only. Incoming player has choice.
• Three-foul rule (3 consecutive fouls is loss of game, not match; player must be warned (”you are on two fouls.”)
• Player ratings determined by Tournament Director. All decisions by Tournament Director are final.

Twenty-three APA captains and co-captains arrived at Diamond Eight on Sunday March 9 to compete in the Annual Captains and Co-captains 8-Ball Tournament. The atmosphere was fun throughout the day, as play continued on the new 7-foot tables. Tom Acciavatti lost his 2nd match, only to battle back to defeat Dennis Wiliams for the top spot, trophy and cash prize. Dennis edged out Frank Rich while Tom defeated Audre Hartman to advance to the finals. Frank and Audre got their entry fees back by claiming the 3rd/4th spot, while Dennis secured second-place.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the tournament. It was a fun day, and play progressed at a good pace. Special thanks to APA league operator Mike Murray for running a successful tourney.

Diamond Eight Billiards was again voted #1 Pool Hall in the Capital District by Metroland Readers. Thanks to everyone who voted!

Stacy Mendrick “The First Lady of Pool” and her husband Stefan, will be competing in the 2008 Artistic Pool Masters Championship in Pennsylvania over the March 14th weekend. The tournament is being held during Allen Hopkins’ Super Billiards Expo, held March 13-16 at the Valley Forge Convention Center in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

We wish both Stacy and Stefan the best of luck!

Terry Farrigan, Dave Alexander and Tom Acciavatti, long-time APA players at Diamond Eight, won their respective boards in the APA Local Singles Championships held in Utica, NY over the March 1st weekend. By winning, Terry, Dave and Tom have earned berths to the APA National Singles Championship to held at the Riveria Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas May 1-3. Congratulations and Good Luck to Terry, Dave and Tom! Great job!

The Annual APA Captain/Co-Captain Tournament will held this Sunday, March 9th, 2008 at Diamond Eight. Practice is at Noon, with play starting at 1:00 pm. Please sign up by 12:45pm. $15.00 Entry Fee. 100% Payback for 1st and 2nd (after table time). Tournament will be modified single-elimination (everyone guaranteed to play twice) and played on the 7-foot bar-sized tables! THIS IS A SINGLES TOURNAMENT (not partners).
