2008 Double Jeopardy Summer Session Playoff Results
The regular 2008 Summer session has come to a close and now it’s playoff time! Sunday night Double Jeopardy saw 8 teams competing in both 8- and 9-Ball divisions on the same night! The playoffs have begun! Click the link to see the latest results.
8-Ball
In 8-Ball, “U Rack We Run” (Wes Hotaling) and “No Clue” (Cindy Dominy) tied for first place with 26 points each. “No Clue” won the tiebreaker by defeating Wes’ team 6-4 over the regular season. Third place was claimed in an unlikely fashion; “Quick Sticks” (Dave Wallace) took third by 1 point after defeating “Home Team” (Ed Skawinski) 4-1, with “Blue’s Cues” (John Robinson) losing all 5 matches in the final week. “Blue’s Cues” was lucky in cpaturing the wild card draw.
First round of 8-Ball playoffs:
- “U Rack We Run” vs. “Quick Sticks
- “No Clue” vs. “Blue’s Cues” (date TBD, since “No Clue” is in Las Vegas)
In the first round of 8-Ball playoffs, “U Rack We Run” defeated “Quick Sticks” 3-1.
9-Ball
“Blue’s Cues” scored 505 points to win first place in Sunday night 9-Ball play. “Pool Nutz” (Frank Bogardus) snuck into 2nd place with 493 points. Cindy’s “No Clue” placed 3rd, while a very happy “Quick Sticks” (Dave Wallace) were the wild card draw.
First round of 9-Ball playoffs:
- “Blue’s Cues” vs. “Quick Sticks”
- “Pool Nutz” vs. “No Clue” (date TBD, since “No Clue” is in Las Vegas)
In the first round 9-Ball, “Blue’s Cues” fell to “Quick Sticks” 44-56.
